Caeden is full of smiles now!

Caeden's First Big Smile! :)

Today Kyle's work threw a baby shower for us. Once again Caeden got lots of really neat stuff. He's really looking forward to using his Baby Einstein Jumper toy from Grandma Glenda and Grandpa Jim! He'll have to wait a few more months though. It's hard to believe that six weeks have already passed by. He was in such a great mood tonight after dinner that we were playing with him and trying to get him to smile. He was really smiley for Mommy earlier today. We were able to get a picture of his first big smile, it's kind of at a weird angle but hey it works! This Saturday Caeden will be taking his first road trip to Omaha to go shopping with Mommy, Auntie Lindsey and Grandma Lynnette. Daddy and Grandpa Jeff will be going to the season opener of the Nebraska Cornhuskers game in Lincoln. We're crossing our fingers and hoping Caeden does well in the car!

Caeden goes to School!

Yesterday Caeden got to visit Grandma Lynnette at Harvey Dunn Elementary School. Grandma got to show him off to all of her friends at work. He even got to see Aunt Jo! Hanging out in the library was so much fun, he even read a book while he was there! On Wednesday Caeden had his one month well baby check up. He now weighs 8 lbs. 9oz. and is 21 and 1/4 inches long. Dr. Meyer said he is doing great!

One Month Old Already!

It's hard to believe the little guy is already over a month old! It doesn't seem like that long at all. He is a great baby and we couldn't be any luckier. He's sleeping on average 6 hours straight during the night. We can't complain at all about that one! Within the last week or so he's really started to become a lot more fun. He's very responsive to people, he's cooing and making noises now, and he's even starting to smile a little bit! His new thing is being able to follow objects that you move in front of his face and he LOVES to watch TV. He could lay down on the floor for a good hour and be perfectly content just watching the lights and the movement on the tv. He goes in for his well baby check on Wednesday so we're anxious to find out how much he weighs now and how long he is. We tried to measure how long he was the other day and we think he's about 21 and a half inches now and we're guessing he weighs between 8 and half and nine pounds.

Caeden's First Baby Shower

Today Auntie Lindsey hosted a baby shower for Caeden. He pretty much slept through the whole thing. He must think a bunch of women sitting around playing games and talking baby talk is boring. He got to meet his Great Grandma Anna for the first time today! We took a generations picture for the Elbers side while she was in town. Caeden got lots of cute clothes and lots of other fun and useful stuff. We'd like to say thanks to everyone who was able to come and thank you for the great gifts!

3 Weeks Old Already!

It's hard to believe he's three weeks old already. Here's some of the pictures we took the other day. He's really getting strong, if you lay him on his belly he can lift his head up and turn to either side. If you hold him up at your shoulder he bobs his head all over. We've been calling him Bob The Birdman because he's always bobbing his head and making bird movements with his mouth. Not only is he becoming really strong, he's becoming very alert to people talking to him and he loves to stare towards the lights. He recently discovered his tongue so he's constantly moving it around. Daddy discovered the other night that humming the Pink Panther theme song calms Caeden down when he's upset. Who would have ever thought that the Pink Panther song would become a soothing song for babies!

Caeden's Baptism is Scheduled

We scheduled Caeden's baptism for September 7, 2008 during the 10:30 service at Zion Lutheran Church where Kyle and I got married. That day is also grandparent's day so it's going to be an extra special day. There will be a lunch after church for family. We took Kyle's baptism outfit to the dry cleaners to get a stain out, we're hoping it came out so Caeden can wear the same outfit as his daddy! Caeden Goes to Work

On Wednesday Caeden visited Grandpa Jeff at Qwest and then on Friday he went to Good Sam to see Daddy and Grandpa Jim. Daddy wore his Binary Dad shirt & Caeden was all decked out in his "My Daddy's a Geek" onesie!

Bath Time!!!

Caeden's umbilical cord finally fell off so he got to have his first "real" bath tonight. We weren't quite sure how it would go, but it went a lot better then the sponge baths he had. It must have been hard work though because ten minutes after his bath he crashed in his swing!
